Festival organizers from The City of Brownwood successfully hosted its inaugural edition of Feels Like Home Festival this past weekend in Brownwood, Texas while welcoming 4,000+ attendees from all over the Lone Star State to enjoy the incredible music, food, and culture of rural Texas.

In Brownwood, numerous event organizers and attendees have found out first hand the their experience when in our city has been seamless and first class. Since the early 1960s, the Brownwood Coliseum has been welcoming sports fan into its comfortable arena to cheer on their favorite teams! Anything from basketball and volleyball, snake round ups and pancake fundraisers, as well as concerts and proms have all been held inside the walls of the Brownwood Coliseum. It is home to Howard Payne University Basketball and Volleyball, and has a rich history of hosting state and regional championships! Over the past two years, Brownwood has hosted over 30 youth baseball tournaments! With the average number of teams being 35 per tournament, it shows that teams from all over know Brownwood does it right.

Brownwood will be the home for Junior College Softball this weekend as Cisco College Softball Tournament will include teams from Texas, Colorado, Nebraska, and New Mexico. The Bert Massey Sports Complex will host all the games, as teams look to get out of the cold and get their seasons going! This is the 3rd year in a row that Brownwood has been the host site for this great tournament, and team expansion is expect as all involved get a big league experience while in Brownwood!

The City of Brownwood will be entering a new level of event operations with the much-anticipated opening of the Brownwood Event Center in the summer of 2024! This state-of-the-art facility offers versatile spaces suitable for meetings and groups ranging from 15 attendees to grand outdoor events on the expansive stage lawn that can host up to 8,000 guests. The TexasBank Holiday Classic in Brownwood, TX will feature its largest field ever, as 48 High School Basketball teams from around the nation will show off their talents over 3 days! This is almost double the amount from the two previous years! The games will be played in the historic Brownwood Coliseum as well as 3 other gyms in the Brownwood area. We anticipate over 9000 people will be in attendance over that time period, and will get to experience all that Brownwood has to offer!

With the temperatures beginning to cool down, things are starting to heat up for The City of Brownwood! We have 24 events coming up to finish the year including the Howard Payne Baseball Bonanza, Brownwood Pickleball Classic, and TexasBank Holiday Classic! From flag football to Frisbee golf and all sports in between, Brownwood can host and support them all! The Women’s All Pro Tour, the official qualifying tour for the LPGA’s Epson Tour, will be heading to Brownwood, Texas for the first time for The Hideout Open. The four day tournament will feature over 100 of the best LPGA hopefuls competing at the beautiful The Hideout Golf Club.
