As 2024 comes to a close, were taking a trip down memory lane and reminiscing all the incredible events we had this year. While we can’t list them all, here is a peak at a handful of them! We can’t wait to work with you all in 2025!
The 2024 Everett 3on3 Basketball Tournament in Washington was a huge success, drawing 278 teams across 34 divisions, 1090 players and 5000 spectators. Held in downtown Everett, the event took place on 30 courts set up along Colby and Wetmore avenues, and featured a wide range of participants, from youth to adult players. The tournament included a variety of exciting competitions, such as skills challenges, slam dunk contest, the 3 point shot contest (sponsored by Snohomish County Sports Commission), while local vendors added to the lively atmosphere. Champions in each division earned trophies, and the elite division winners took home cash prizes. The event has quickly become a staple of Everett’s summer calendar, bringing the community together for some fun and friendly competition.
The 2024 National Beard and Moustache Championships were held on November 2 at the Historic Everett Theatre in Everett, Washington. Participants from across the country competed in various categories, including moustaches, partial beards, full beards, and even creative craft beards. The event also featured an attempt to set Guinness World Records for the longest beard and moustache chains, adding to the excitement. Celebrating facial hair as an art form, the competition brought together enthusiasts in a lively display of creativity and camaraderie, further highlighting Everett as a host for unique and memorable cultural events. There were 173 competitors and around 400 spectators joining in on the fun. 93 of those competitors traveled from out of state to participate while the other 80 resided in the state of Washington. They partnered with Dawsons Place and raised $2000 for the local charity!
The 2024 Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire transported visitors to the enchanting 16th-century Village of Merriwick at Sky Meadows in Snohomish, Washington. 73,000 people attended the festival held over five weekends in July and August. Attendees traveled internationally to be a part of the festivities, from Canada, Taiwan, Japan, Mexico, Sweden, Poland, Netherlands, Korea, India, Great Britian, France, China, and Australia. The event featured themed weekends like “Mystic Meadows” and “Legends of the High Seas,” offering unique stories and interactive experiences. Guests enjoyed thrilling jousting tournaments, live performances, and a bustling marketplace filled with artisan crafts and period-inspired food and drink. Evening festivities added an extra layer of excitement, immersing attendees in the magic of a bygone era. The faire provided a delightful mix of entertainment and historical charm, welcoming visitors of all ages to revel in the spirit of the Renaissance
The 2024 Candyland Invitational, hosted by Northwest Aerials, took place on February 3rd and 4th in Everett, Washington, drawing a record number of around 660 gymnasts and 2,000 spectators. This annual competition welcomed athletes across various levels, including Development Program Levels 2-4 and XCEL Levels Bronze through Diamond. Participants showcased their gymnastics talents in a lively and supportive atmosphere, with special recognition given through Judge’s Awards for standout performances. The event not only highlighted athletic skill but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and celebration among gymnasts, families, and fans, solidifying its reputation as a cherished regional tradition.
The 2024 USA Softball Western National Championships took place from July 23 to 28 in Everett and Lynnwood, Washington, attracting top-tier softball teams from across the western United States. Competition weekend kicked off with the Opening Ceremony held at Funko Field. Over 60 teams, 1,500 spectators, and 50 umpires were in attendance. The tournament featured 14U B, 16U B, and 18U A/B divisions, with games held at multiple venues including Kasch Park in Everett and Meadowdale Playfields in Lynnwood. Teams competed in a series of fastpitch softball games, showcasing their talent and determination in hopes of winning the coveted championship titles in each age group. The event highlighted the region’s thriving softball community, bringing together athletes, coaches, and fans for an exciting week of competition and sportsmanship.
The 2024 Bigfoot Soccer Tournament, held in Snohomish, Washington, took place across two weekends in July at Stocker Fields, attracting teams from U8 to U19 divisions. With a total of 359 teams participating, the tournament offered exciting competition and a great platform for youth soccer players to showcase their skills. The event saw over 18,000 attendees and generated an impressive economic impact of $4.9 million for the region. The Bigfoot Tournament was recognized as Champions of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism presented by Sports Destination Management, for its contribution to sports tourism and community engagement.
Perfect Game Northwest (PGNW) is a prominent baseball organization dedicated to organizing and promoting youth baseball tournaments and showcases throughout the Pacific Northwest region. In 2024, PGNW hosted several notable events in Washington state, providing competitive platforms for young athletes to showcase their skills. Over the year they had 651 participating teams and held 11 tournaments at venues including Phil Johnson Ballfields, Kasch Park, Meadowdale Playfields, Tulalip Sports Complex, Bill Quake Memorial Park and Skykomish River Park.
In 2024, Kayak Point Disc Golf Resort in Washington hosted several exciting events, including the Kayak Point Open, a three-day PDGA-sanctioned tournament, and the GK Pro Disc Golf Fest, a fun festival celebrating the sport. The resort also organized leagues and clinics throughout the year, such as the Intro to Disc Golf Clinics and the Fall League, offering opportunities for players to improve their skills. These events solidified Kayak Point as a key hub for disc golf in the region, drawing both competitive players and casual enthusiasts to its scenic courses.
The 2024 Harvey Cup, a key youth lacrosse tournament, was held from May 31 to June 2 at Kasch Park Athletic Complex in Everett, Washington. Organized by the Snohomish Boys Lacrosse and Glacier Peak Lacrosse Clubs, the event brought together around 80 teams from kindergarten through 8th grade, providing a competitive environment for young players. The tournament featured well-run games, with central vendor areas and improved amenities like parking and restrooms. The event was a success, with positive feedback from participants and families, strengthening the local lacrosse community and offering an excellent platform for young athletes to showcase their skills.
In 2024, DYSports continued its commitment to youth basketball development in Washington State by hosting several competitive tournaments for players at various skill levels. These events provided young athletes with opportunities to improve their skills and gain valuable game experience. Notable tournaments included the New Year’s Classic and the Rising Stars Classic, which brought together teams from across the state to compete and showcase their talent. DYSports’ focus on fostering competition and sportsmanship helped strengthen youth basketball in the region, offering both recreational and aspiring elite players a chance to grow in the sport.
The 2024 Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships took place from July 25 to 28 at Lake Tye Park in Monroe, Washington. The event brought together some of the best wakeboarders and wakesurfers in the country to compete in various divisions with around 263 participants. The 3,806 Spectators were treated to thrilling displays of skill as athletes performed impressive tricks and stunts on the water. Presented by GM Marine and part of the Nautique Wake Series, the championship showcased the exciting world of wakeboarding and brought together a community of passionate athletes and fans.
The 2024 EnduroCross event in Everett, Washington, delivered an electrifying spectacle of skill and determination, as the world’s best riders tackled one of the most challenging indoor tracks in motorsport. Held at the Angel of the Winds Arena with around 6,000 in attendance, the race featured a mix of natural and man-made obstacles, testing both speed and technical ability. Cody Webb emerged victorious after a fierce battle with rising stars like Trystan Hart and Max Gerston, showcasing his mastery of the sport. The event’s thrilling heats captivated a passionate crowd, adding to the high-energy atmosphere that made the day unforgettable. With its intense competition and close-knit fan experience, the 2024 EnduroCross in Everett set the bar high for future races, leaving fans eager for the next chapter in this adrenaline-fueled sport.
