5v5 Soccer’s Banner Year: A 2024 Recap and a Look to the Future

5v5 Soccer has had another banner year in 2024, expanding to new markets across the US. With their annual showcase tournament, the 5v5 Soccer National Championship right around the corner, we want to take a moment to highlight the company, their growth, goals, and partnership opportunities.

Since 2021, the company has grown by 50% year over year with either teams per tournament or tournaments. In 2021, 5v5 Soccer ran 47 events with over 1,400 teams. In 2022, the company focused on the back end systems and operations to prepare to scale, while still growing to 51 tournaments and over 1,600 teams. 2023 was a scale year, growing to 71 events and over 2,300 teams.

2024 has been no different. The upcoming National Championship will be their 100th event of the year, and will run 105 events this year.

5v5 Soccer partners with the local soccer community, DMO’s, facilities, and the like to create unforgettable one-day events. Even though the events are one day, teams follow these events around across a region to play in multiple events a year. Most 5v5 Soccer tournaments take place in the shoulder months, November-March for winter, indoor, futsal, or outdoor events (where it’s warm enough), and Summer from May-August.

In the partnership with the local soccer community, the Destinations connect 5v5 Soccer with one of the local soccer organizations (usually the local soccer club) who will help with the fields and the grassroots marketing. 5v5 Soccer then tags a portion of the registration revenue to donate back to the soccer organization as a fundraiser!

Through this 5v5 Soccer Fundraiser and donation back to the local soccer club, the company has donated back nearly $500,000 that has stayed in the local soccer communities. Add that onto the concept of hotels, restaurants, attractions, and everything else that comes with a tournament, that’s a lasting economic impact!

The 5v5 Soccer tournaments may start as a local event in their first year, but quickly grow into regional travel events. In the summer of 2024, tournaments can attract up to a 5 state radius for the event. In some events, the teams were 50-60% out of state.

The company is now accepting new tournament locations for 2025 and beyond. The needs are simple, connect them with a local soccer origination and provide two 11v11 full sized fields to be lined for 5v5 Soccer. They’ll do everything else. No bid fee. No extra hoops. Just more soccer.
