Alcott names Jasmine Koo and Megan Meng to US Junior Solheim Cup Team

Braselton, GA – Team USA Captain Amy Alcott has named Jasmine Koo of Cerritos, California, and Megan Meng of Pennington, New Jersey, to the 2023 United States PING Junior Solheim Cup Team.
Koo and Meng round out the United States team of 12 headed to Spain in 39 days. Koo and Meng will join fellow rising seniors Yana Wilson, Anna Davis and Leigh Chien to lead the young team.
Modeled after the Solheim Cup, the PING Junior Solheim Cup biennially features the 12 best female junior golfers (ages 12-18) from the United States against their counterparts from Europe. The team match play event includes foursomes, four-ball and singles matches played over two days and rotates between U.S. and European host sites coinciding with the Solheim Cup. This years event includes both teams watching the final days of the Solheim Cup matches at Finca Cortesin, September 18 – 24, 2023.
The United States is looking for their third straight win on foreign soil. The 2019 team won 13 to 11 in Scotland at Gleneagles – Kings Course. In 2015, the US also won 13 to 11 in Germany at Golf Club St. Leon-Rot.

Koo with her selection becomes the fourth California native on the 2023 team. The rising senior’s 2023 season includes two top-10 AJGA Invitational finishes including T5 at the Fortinet Girls Invitational at Stanford. The Southern California commit is a two-time Rolex Junior All-American and has made two Wyndham Cup appearances for the West team. Koo is currently serving as the 2023 Player Representative to the AJGA Board of Directors.
Megan Meng | Pennington, New Jersey

Golfweek / Sagarin Junior Girls Ranking: 27
Meng’s best finish in 2023 came at the Rolex Girls Junior Championship where she finished T5 behind fellow teammates Talley, Wilson and Kim. The rising senior was named a 2022 Rolex Junior All-American for her play last season. The Northwestern commit made her first Wyndham Cup appearance this year for the East Team.
Anna Song of Los Angeles, California, will also be making the trip to Spain. The rising junior automatically qualified after a player in the original ten qualifiers had to late withdraw. Song becomes the fourth California native selected to the team and it will be her first team golf appearance.

Song started off her 2023 season with a two- stroke win at the Fortinet Girls Invitational at Stanford, her first AJGA Invitational win. She followed it up with a top-10 finish at the Dustin Johnson World Junior, before competing alongside the professionals at the Mizuho Americas Open.
