Lake Mary, Fla. – Asterisk Talley of Chowchilla, California, triumphed at the 17th Hilton Grand Vacations ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex with a remarkable 9-under-par 204. This victory marks her fifth AJGA win and solidifies her status as the No. 1 ranked player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.
Talley entered the final round with a two-stroke lead over defending champion Natalie Yen of West Linn, Oregon. She began her round with seven consecutive pars before carding her first birdie on the par-5 No. 8. Further birdies on the par-4 No. 10 and the par-5 No. 16 extended her lead, culminating in a bogey-free final round. Her victory was celebrated on the 18th green by tournament host Annika Sorenstam.
I learned from Annika that golf doesn’t define us as people. We can go home after a tournament and learn from my game each week. If I played well, I can learn about what I did to make myself play well.
