Butterfield Bermuda Junior Championship set for January

BRASELTON, Ga.– The American Junior Golf Association will host the first-ever Butterfield Bermuda Junior Championship Friday, January 13 to Monday, January 16, 2023, at Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda. The tournament is entitled by the Butterfield Bermuda Championship and the Bermuda Tourism Authority, and locally sponsored by Digicel Business.

The event will feature 78 of the world’s top male and female junior golfers (ages 12-19). A select number of Bermudian junior golfers will have a chance to earn an exemption to compete in January. Interested local juniors should contact the Bermuda Golf Association.

The Butterfield Bermuda Junior Championship will open with practice rounds starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, January 13. The first round will begin Saturday, January 14, with first- through final-round tee times running each day from 8 – 10:03 a.m. off Nos. 1 and 10 tees at Port Royal Golf Course. The awards ceremony will take place at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Monday, January 16, after the conclusion of final-round play.

The Butterfield Bermuda Championship is a PGA TOUR event that is hosted annually at Port Royal Golf Course. The 2022 edition of this FedEx Cup occurred from October 27 to 30. The 72-hole tournament featured a 132-player field and a purse of US $6.5 million.

Port Royal Golf Course is located at 5 Port Royal Golf Course, Southampton SB03. Guests are welcome to attend the Butterfield Bermuda Junior Championship. Admission to the AJGA tournament is free.
