The temperatures outside are dropping, but Cedar Point Sports Center is just getting warmed up for its winter season! The event schedule is packed with events through the winter, so mark your calendars for all of the sports action coming to Shores & Islands Ohio over the next couple months! Let’s break down what is coming up at Cedar Point Sports Center. But before we do that, there is some BIG news out of the Sandusky sports complex: the Phase I of Cedar Point eSports has officially opened to the public!
Cedar Point eSports is the latest addition to the Cedar Point Sports Center and the premier gaming destination in Ohio. The cutting-edge 1,000 square-foot gaming facility promises to be a haven for gamers of all levels and interests. Cedar Point Esports is poised to bring competitive gaming events to Sandusky with state-of-the-art equipment and planned programming available to the public. Each of its 32 gaming stations feature 24” 165Hz gaming monitors, HP Omen gaming PC’s with Nvidia RTX 3060Ti graphic cards.
The games currently being offered at the facility are Fortnite, Valorant, League of Legends, Rocket League, Apex Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Teamfight Tactics, Hearthstone, NBA 2K, and Overwatch2, with more to come.
Cedar Point Esports is launching an 8-week league for young and passionate gamers! The is an incredible opportunity to compete, learn, and grow in the exhilarating world of esports. The winter season on the hardwood officially kicks off at Cedar Point Sports Center on November 19th, with the North Coast Cheer & Dance Championships– the first of two US Cheer Productions events coming to the facility through May 2024. Cedar Point Sports Center moves from the mat to the hardwood the following weekend with the Turkey Stuffer basketball tournament on November 26th, before raising the baskets and breaking out the small balls for the 5v5 Sandusky futsal tournament on December 2nd. The Early Bird Extravaganza volleyball tournament will keep the rotation of sports moving on December 9th and 10th. Cedar Point Sports Center will break out the wrestling mats for the first time of the winter for the Ohio Athletic Committee Grade School Duals on December 16th, followed by the Defense Soap Duals on December 17th. Sandusky will be the epicenter of high school basketball from December 27th-30th during the annual Jingle Bell Jam, where over 40 of the top high school basketball programs in Ohio will make their way to Cedar Point Sports Center for their final test of the 2023 calendar year.
