Decatur Morgan County Tourism in Alabama has announced a partnership with UpDog Challenge to host the UpDog International Finals 2025, which is expected to be one of the largest disc dog events ever.
The competition will take place from April 1–6, 2025, at the Spirit of America fields at Point Mallard Park with teams from across the United States, Canada and potentially Europe and South America.
“We are incredibly excited to help bring UPDIF 2025 to Decatur,” said Don Dukemineer, director of sports development for Decatur Morgan County Tourism. “This event not only highlights the vibrant and growing sport of disc dog competitions but also provides us with a fantastic opportunity to showcase Decatur as a premier destination for diverse sporting events. The UpDog Challenge is an international disc dog organization that brings together people and their dogs to enjoy a variety of frisbee games. Founded in 2014, UpDog has grown into one of the largest disc dog organizations in the world.
“The competition will span five days, bringing together 350-400 human competitors and their talented dogs,” said Kat Fahle, founder of the UpDog Challenge. “We are looking forward to holding the event in Decatur, as the Point Mallard Park Spirit of America fields provide a perfect setting for our competition. Our competitors will enjoy exploring the beautiful area and experiencing the local hospitality.”
