Discover Albany Welcomes the 2025 CrossFit Games to Albany
Albany, NY – Jan. 14, 2025 – Discover Albany, the official destination marketing organization for Albany County, is thrilled to announce that the 2025 CrossFit Games will take place at the MVP Arena from August 1-3, marking a historic first for the East Coast.
The CrossFit Games, recognized as the pinnacle of fitness competitions worldwide, bring together elite athletes and fans for an unparalleled celebration of sport, health, and community. Discover Albany played a pivotal role in securing this landmark event, showcasing the Capital Region’s state-of-the-art facilities, central location, and vibrant cultural offerings.

Albany County Sports Commissioner Jay Cloutier emphasized the wide-reaching community impact of hosting the CrossFit Games, “The efforts to secure the CrossFit Games has been a total community endeavor. CrossFit will utilize more than 30 hotels in every corner of Albany County and will impact small convenience stores, grocery stores, restaurants, and local businesses as competitors from around the globe descend on the county to compete in the 2025 CrossFit championship. Utilizing Destination International’s Event Impact Calculator, Discover Albany estimates the impact of this event will exceed $5.5 million in direct visitor spending and generate over $500,000 in local taxes.”
