Greetings!
MSC met with dozens of event organizers at the annual SportsETA Symposium held in Kansas City, May 8-11, 2023, where conversations led to certain bids already in motion, advancing sports tourism.
You’re invited to visit MSC Events to map out your calendar. Please consider volunteering at an event; races, rides and tournaments bring a positive economic impact to the host region and Maine. Let’s encourage athletes and participants to return year after year! Thank you.

Drive Fore Kids tees up summer at the Falmouth Country Club, June 21-23, 2023! This invitational celebrity golf tournament benefitting the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center is being hosted by Shamrock Sports and Entertainment and presented by Bangor Savings Bank and MaineHealth. Be sure to check out the impressive “roster” and ways to volunteer, play with stars and cheer on golfers while supporting a wonderful cause!
Congratulations to the University of Maine Black Bears on their first appearance in the NCAA Regionals since 2011. Their successful season ended last weekend following a tough defeat to Louisiana. Best wishes for another promising run next year!
Firecracker Sports will host their 5th Annual All American Lighthouse Classic welcoming 111 baseball teams to Greater Portland and Maine Beaches ballfields June 22-26, 2023. A lengthy wait list each spring has resulted in the All American Summer Classic, a second tournament debuting in July. 55 teams will compete at various fields to include Bates College, Central Maine Community College and Lewiston High School. Collaborative relationships clearly lead to recurring, impactful events every season!

Sideline Stories – Maine born and raised, Coach Katie Stannard, a Bowdoin basketball standout, shares her life experiences as Head Coach of Women’s Basketball at Southern Maine Community College, and mother of two young (adorable) daughters as well as her passion for empowering others.

“Love Maine Trails Month (LMTM) is a collective statewide month of trail stewardship where trail maintenance organizations, municipalities, state and federal agencies, staff and volunteers come together to perform a variety of trail work projects throughout Maine, engaging volunteers and raising awareness of the ethic of care and magnitude of scale required to maintain Maine’s trails. Love Maine Trails Month is organized by the Maine Trails Coalition.” Maine Trails Finder offers a calendar for you to discover ways to be part of LMTM June 1 – July 3, 2023!
