What is your biggest event? How many hotel room nights are generated on peak night(s)?
Our MLQ Championship is our biggest event. On peak nights, we have 100 room nights.
Have you grown geographically in 2024 or project geographic growth in future years?
No plans for growth, as our central tenet of the league is a limit on participating teams in order to ensure high quality teams and maximizes the amount of coverage that can be given to each team and each game.
What makes a Destination stand out when selecting a host?
Key things we look for are the quality of the facility, the quality of the hotels, and the enthusiasm of the community to come out and watch!
What are your “nice to haves” vs. your “non-negotiables”?
Non-negotiables: Internet, electricity, pressbox(or the ability to create one), seating (or the ability to bring in), the ability to regulate spectators, bathrooms, and parking. Nice to have: PA system, indoor space, locker rooms, concessions on-site.
Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, are you looking for new locations to host events? What geographic areas are you most interested in, or are you open to opportunities across the United States? Are you interested in going international (if so, where?).
We are open to new locations to host our events! We’d love to host something in the Southeast or Mid-West area. We are open to opportunities across the US, but want to make sure the location makes sense for our franchises. We would be open to hosting in Canada!
When can Destinations expect to see a new RFPs/Opportunities from your Organization? If you have an RFP currently listed, are you still looking for interest? When are the best times for Destinations to reach out to you if they are interested?
We are accepting bids for 2025+ on a rolling basis. Our RFP is currently listed for 2025, and the deadline is September 15, 2024. Please reach out to events@mlquadball.com if you are interested on a rolling basis!
Does anyone from your team attend Sports Tourism Conferences? (If yes, which ones)
Yes. We typically attend the Sports ETA Symposium in May. We also occasionally go to one additional conference.
Have you had any successful partnerships with Destinations in the past, and if so, could you list those?
We’ve previously worked with Destination Toledo, the City of League City, Visit Richmond, Madison Sports Commission, Visit Howard County, and Catch Des Moines.
Is there anything else you would like Destinations to know about your organization?
MLQ is excited to bring the highest quality quadball to your city! We strive to pioneer a new realm of sport and propel quadball into new heights of entertainment through an action-packed product, inclusive culture, and innovative concepts.
