For most of it’s existence, the Prospect Wire All American Weekend has been held in Nashville, TN at Vanderbilt University. While the experience has been first class and nothing short of amazing, due to continued construction around their facilities, it would be a challenge to successfully run the event in the manner it’s intended.
Prospect Wire President Brian Werner stated, “We have loved every second of our time in Nashville. We hope to be able to return in the future. The last few years, Vanderbilt has really done some amazing updates to their athletic facilities. This year, some of the things they are working on would directly impact the field of play during our event. With so many videos and social media snippets we produce, we did not feel it would look good for either Vanderbilt or Prospect Wire, to have that in the background. I have the utmost respect for Coach Corbin and his facilities and would only want the best when showcasing them to our guests in attendance.”
Werner had also discussed some options for the future of the event, which will have a new destination in 2025.
“We are very excited to announce the 2025 All American Weekend will be held in Austin, Texas at the University of Texas! Once we had decided to allow Vanderbilt to work on their updates without stressing over how to let us operate around them, we began to reach out to some potential alternatives. Keeping in mind that our All Americans and their families fly or drive in from the east & west coast, as well as centralized states, we wanted to look for a location that was just as easily accessible as Nashville is to most of the country. The one place that continued to come up was Austin, TX. We are grateful that they had the dates available and the desire to host, and we can’t wait to bring our event to the great state of Texas this summer!”
When asked about the future of the event, and potentially returning to Nashville down the road, Brian had some thoughts.
“Honestly, for a few years now I have been thinking of ways to improve the event. Because of the timing and when we run it, we know the start of the high school year coincides with our showcase for many of the athletes attending. We have discussed a rotation for the event, that took it from the west coast, to a centralized area, to the east coast, and back. This would potentially allow more west coast kids to attend then they did in the past. Because we also now have 3 classes that attend, we want to make sure returning All Americans are not always having the exact same experience. Providing 3 new experiences each cycle might produce a better overall turnout for our returning All Americans,” remarked Werner. “We have several options on the table we are discussing, but for now, we are focused on getting ready for the 2025 event. We will be teasing uniforms here shortly, along with hats and some of the merch. It’s going to be a great event!”
