Round Rock is tucked in the heart of central Texas, with its city limits bordering Austin. Traveling to Round Rock is a quick hop by air from Austin, or by car, it’s easily accessible from four of the nation’s largest cities. The city is home to almost every hotel brand at every price point. Most recently, a new resort called Kalahari Resorts and Conventions opened, featuring America’s largest indoor water park. “We are only the fourth one in the United States. It’s family-owned, which is amazing. The water park is like nothing you can even imagine. It opened in November of last year and has been very popular,” Yawn shares.

At Dell Diamond, the Home Run Dugout is a state-of-the-art entertainment venue featuring two state-of-the-art batting bays™ equipped with proprietary ground-up, soft-toss pitching machines. The space also boasts a full restaurant and bar, and with plenty of TVs and areas to gather, this is a super fun spot to unwind, practice your swings, and enjoy delicious bites and drinks.
Round Rock Honey is a local gem, started in 2003 by Konrad and Elizabeth Bouffard with four hives in their backyard. Today, they continue to focus on quality and care in their practice, which is evident in their every bottle. Round Rock Honey offers beekeeping classes on Saturdays, where attendees learn beekeeping basics and are outfitted in a full beekeeping suit to explore the hives. Honey House Tours are also offered, which cover the beekeeping and honey bottling process.
It’s true what they say – everything really is bigger in Texas. When it comes to the food scene in Round Rock, there are plenty of local spots with iconic selections. Whether you’d like authentic Mexican cuisine or classic Texas-style BBQ, there is something for everyone here. For a sweet treat, head to Round Rock Donuts for a “Texas Sized Donut”, a 14-inch donut made with homemade batter that’s sure to make your mouth water. Opened in 2014 with 82,800 square feet of indoor space with 47,775 square feet of open, playable space, the Round Rock Sports Center is a key pillar of the sports community here. Whether you’d like to host basketball, volleyball, table tennis, gymnastics, or archery, the center’s flexible space has you covered. The space is a great fit for conferences and concerts, too, with the ability to comfortably seat 1,400 guests.
A fan favorite, the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex features 4 natural grass multipurpose fields, 1 natural grass championship field, 4 synthetic turf multipurpose fields and 1 synthetic turf championship field, parking, state-of-the-art Musco sports lighting, restroom/concessions building, spectator amenities, a playground and more. Across its 60 acres, the luxurious complex can switch gears to host a variety of outdoor sports.
The home stadium of the Round Rock Express, the Triple-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Texas Rangers major league baseball team. The stadium is a beautiful spot for baseball fans to catch a game. In addition to hosting baseball, Dell Diamond can convert the outfield into a full-sized field for rugby and soccer events as well.
The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association Invitational was held at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex from May 12-14, 2021. The event consisted of 8 collegiate lacrosse teams competing for three days to win the final game of the invitational.
The Major League Quidditch (MLQ) South Division SuperSeries was hosted from Saturday, July 31, 2021, to Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex. The world of quidditch only continues to grow, and the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex is the perfect spot for this weekend SuperSeries.
The Big 12 soccer schedule is set for the 2021 season, culminating in The Big 12 Soccer Championship in Round Rock on October 31st, November 4th, and November 7th, 2021. The Championship will take place at Round Rock’s premier outdoor sports facility, the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex, and is already set to return in 2022.
The National League P.R.O. is US Youth Soccer’s new high-level national competition platform. The league features the top 14U-19U Boys and Girls teams in the USYS National League competing to advance to the annual USYS National Championships. From November 12-15, 2021, the 14U age group will compete at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.
