Sedgefield Country Club to host the 23rd edition of the Wyndham Invitational presented by Odyssey

The Wyndham Invitational presented by Odyssey returns to Sedgefield Country Club, featuring a stacked lineup of 72 top-ranked boys from the Rolex AJGA Rankings. This year, these junior golfers will compete in a 54-hole stroke play format tournament with no cut. This marks the 16th year Sedgefield Country Club has hosted this event and the eighth consecutive.

About Sedgefield Country Club
This year marks Sedgefield’s 23rd year hosting the AJGA, a testament to the course’s rich history. The 72 juniors in the field will compete on the same course that PGA TOUR players will play just two months later during the Wyndham Championship. Notably, 49 PGA TOUR winners have competed in the Wyndham Invitational. Additionally, past participants have achieved significant success, with 12 winning the U.S. Amateur Championship, 15 claiming the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship and seven capturing the NCAA D-I Men’s Individual Championship.

AJGA Champion Highlights
Of the 44 players who’ve won an AJGA event, a few highlights:

  • Henry Guan of Dallas, Texas won the 2022 Wyndham Invitational presented by Odyssey and was runner-up in last year’s. Guan is currently ranked No. 7 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and is coming off a strong month of May where he finished fifth at the Mayakoba Invitational and tied for ninth at the Team TaylorMade Invitational.
  • Carson Bertagnole of Pinehurst, North Carolina was recently crowned champion at the Team TaylorMade Invitational and has since moved to No. 14 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Bertagnole is one of the seven North Carolina natives and is verbally committed to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
  • Phillip Dunham of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida is currently ranked No. 16 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Dunham has finished inside the top-10 at four Invitationals in his AJGA career and will be searching for his first win this week.
  • Michael Riebe of Encinitas, California finished inside the top-10 in his only AJGA appearance of 2024 at the AJGA Simplify Boys Championship at Carlton Woods and will be searching for his first AJGA victory since 2022. Riebe is verbally committed to Vanderbilt University.
