For decades, golfers from near and far have flocked to the legendary courses of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Today, the golf scene at The Beach is stronger than ever – and with 80+ golf courses to discover, it truly rewards repeat visits.
The Beach isn’t just for weekend golfers. It’s getting huge attention on the pro circuit, too. We were honored to host the first annual Myrtle Beach Classic in 2024, a PGA TOUR event and the largest major sanctioned golf tournament on the Grand Strand in nearly 25 years.
That’s why our 60 miles of sunny beaches are also known as the Golf Capital of the World. And regardless of what kind of trip you’re planning – like a youth golf event, charity tournament or an exclusive getaway for VIP clients – there’s simply no better place to play than The Beach.
Let’s tee off our tour of golf courses at The Beach with one of the best clubs open to all players: Caledonia Golf & Fish Club. This golfers oasis, known for its unique mix of architectural and natural beauty, earned a spot on Golf Digest’s list of America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses. It also made the cut for GOLF Magazine’s top 100 public-access courses. You can find Caledonia on Pawleys Island, South Carolina – one of the southernmost coastal communities of the Grand Strand.
Once your attendees have played a round at Caledonia, send them to the one that started it all – Pine Lakes Country Club. Founded in 1927 by the PGA’s first president, Robert White, Pine Lakes was the very first golf course in the entire Myrtle Beach area. But that’s not the club’s only claim to fame. Sports Illustrated’s founders first conceptualized the well-loved magazine during a discussion on the links at Pine Lakes.
There’s so much more to do at The Beach – from dining at more than 2,000 restaurants to enjoying live music at shows that happen every single night. To learn more and start planning the perfect golf trip for your needs, head to VisitMyrtleBeach.com/golf.
