Exciting stars such as Ilona Maher, Simone Biles, and Caitlyn Clark are getting their deserved attention, and women’s sports are making headlines. But the Washtenaw County Celebration of Girls and Women in Sports was already honoring women athletes.
On Saturday, February 10, 2024, the Ann Arbor Sports Commission, in partnership with Concordia University, hosted an exhilarating event championing the spirit of girls and women in sports.
Panels of experts discussed important topics for women athletes, including topics such as breaking barriers and health and development. Attendees heard from women who’ve reached the top of their fields: Grace Latz, U.S. rowing champion; Jenna Trubiano, University of Michigan Women’s Club hockey coach; Eva Solomon, owner and president of Epic Races; Debbie Williams-Hoak, LPGA Class A Professional; and more.
The event in 2024 was such a success that a second celebration is in the works for 2025. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the excitement. Learn more about Ann Arbor Sports here.
