We have reached the final three facilities on Zero Gravity‘s Top 10 Facility List, and I couldn’t be happier to feature one of the premier sports complexes in Pennsylvania – Competitive Edge Sports. This spacious 5 court facility is located in the heart of the Philadelphia region. With access points from all major cities and highways, and a short drive from one of the largest malls in America, the King of Prussia Mall, Competitive Edge Sports has become a go-to destination for sporting events.
Originally built in 2010, CES was acquired by new ownership in 2015, with a vision to grow Volleyball, Basketball, and Futsal in the Philadelphia Region. The mission of CES is to provide an opportunity for athletes to come and play in safe family friendly environment, as well as train athletes and help them achieve their goals.
In just four years, they have certainly accomplished this. They are home to one of the largest volleyball clubs on the east coast, East Coast Power Volleyball. Competitive Edge Sports facilitates over 20 tournaments throughout the year, and plays hosts to almost 30 events from outside groups. They are also home to East Coast Power Volleyball, Zero Gravity Basketball, Made Hoops League Championships, ICBA, Fencor AAU Nationals, & many more prestigious events/event operators.
The facility hosts a number of large tournaments and sporting events, bringing in anywhere between 60-100 teams per weekend. These event include in-house basketball and volleyball tournaments, the PVA Invitational Volleyball Tournament, the Northeast Collegiate Volleyball Combine, Philly Futsal, 25 travel AAU basketball teams, elite gymnastics competitions, and much more. In total, they are welcoming over 500,000 visitors a year.
CES has provided endless opportunities for local athletes to develop and grow through sports as well as providing local business the opportunity to thrive off of the traffic and events that are held at CES. CES has given back to many local schools and businesses through sponsorships and donations to help certain causes or athletic programs.
“Competitive Edge is tremendous sports complex in an amazing area of Pennsylvania, but what makes this place truly special is the people. Mark Campion and Brian McCann are first class people and make the event experience for players, parents, and event operators a 10/10 every single time.”
