US Youth Soccer has announced its schedule of major events for the 2023–2024 season, which will be a year-long celebration of the organization’s 50th anniversary.
The event schedule includes National Championship Series, Presidents Cup and National League events, plus USYS Olympic Development Program teams playing against club and international teams for the second straight year.
Headlining the list is a return to the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas, for National Presidents Cup from July 12–16 and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida, for the National Championships from July 23–28.
“Not only does this event provide a significant positive economic boost for Wichita, but the National Presidents Cup represents some of the best youth soccer players in the nation and is one of USYS’ most prestigious events,” said Josh Howell, vice president of sports development at Visit Wichita. “To be able to inspire them to return for a second year in a row is a testament to the dedication of our team and our community partners to put our best foot forward.”
The Midwest Regional Championships will take place June 21–26 in Olathe and Overland, Kansas. The Southern Regional Championships will be hosted jointly by Tampa and Auburndale, Florida, from June 21–27. The Far West Regional Championships are at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex in Honolulu, Hawaii, from June 21–27. The Eastern Regional Championships will be in Charleston and Barboursville, West Virginia, from June 27 through July 3.
The Presidents Cup events all take place from June 14–18. Charleston and Barboursville, West Virginia, will host the Eastern; Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is the site for the Midwest; Russell Creek Park in Plano, Texas, will host the Southern; and Regional Athletic Complex in Salt Lake City is the home of the Far West event.
“We are proud to celebrate our 50th anniversary and thank the millions of players who have donned the USYS shield over the last five decades,” said US Youth Soccer Chief Executive Officer Skip Gilbert. “We recognize those who founded our wonderful organization and the executives at our national office and the State Associations who made — and continue to make — US Youth Soccer what it is today. Most, we want to acknowledge past and present players, coaches, volunteers, parents and family members who are the lifeblood of our organization.”
The 50th anniversary celebration includes primarily blue and primarily red versions of the shield logo, as well as a logo with a golden “50.” USYS also unveiled a campaign slogan: “It Starts with US | Youth Soccer.”
