USA BMX Cajun Nationals Pedals Into West Monroe for 14th Year
Three-day biking event returns to showcase riders from around the world

TULSA, Okla. (March 17, 2025) – For its 14th consecutive year, the USA BMX Cajun Nationals is making its way back to the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe this weekend, March 21-23.

Hundreds of professional and amateur BMX riders from across the globe will descend on West Monroe for the national competition and USA Cycling Collegiate BMX Championships. Last year’s USA BMX Cajun Nationals at Ike Hamilton Expo Center brought in 2,822 attendees per day and over 670 athletes, representing 38 states and 2 countries.

In addition to the regular national competition, the USA Cycling Collegiate BMX Championships will be welcoming BMX collegiate athletes from over five universities to compete head to head, representing their teams, racing for gold.

“We are honored to host the USA BMX Cajun Nationals for the 14th time, and the addition of the BMX Collegiate Championship is a wonderful bonus for our community. We appreciate the trust that USA BMX has placed in Discover Monroe-West Monroe and our venue partner, Ike Hamilton Expo. We hope the riders from across the country will have the opportunity to visit our locally owned restaurants that offer many great Louisiana specialties,” said Scott Bruscato, Executive Vice President at Discover Monroe.

Races begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, 9:30 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday, with participants racing well into the evening. Entry and parking is free, and fans are welcome to watch and cheer on their favorite riders — like top local riders 8-year-old Bentley Hearne and 13-year-old Colton Miller— as they expertly navigate jumps, twists and turns along the track.

These are two of several riders who call Twin City BMX home, Monroe’s premier BMX track five miles down the street from Ike Hamilton Expo Center, who will be participating in this weekend’s events. Miller was named Twin City BMX’s 2024 Rider of the Year, and both Hearne and Miller are number one in the state for BMX in their respective age groups.

As a result, ABA has developed a structured blueprint. A cyclist can progress from humble beginnings on a balance bike to becoming a BMX Olympian by establishing these roots.
