Valley Forge Sports Hosts a Tremendous Summer in Montgomery County
Montgomery County, PA continues to be a premier destination to host sports tournaments, and the Valley Forge Sports team of the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board is proving just that. The team is proud to have hosted 40+ events this summer, with a total of 18 different sports and 13 events new to the area. Events this summer contributed an estimated 47,000 room nights sold, and an estimated $50 million in economic impact. Memorial Day Weekend alone contributed almost 10,000 room nights to their overall success.

JUNE
In June, Valley Forge and Montgomery County hosted 8 different events, 6 of them new to the area. Overall, 16,000+ room nights were sold, with an estimated $18 million in economic impact.
June 1-2
Big Shots Philly had a successful weekend at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center with 1,500 room nights.
June 8-9
NXT All-American LAX and KickIt 3v3 Soccer Tournament had a fantastic event at the Proving Grounds in Conshohocken and WestMont Soccer Complex. The total room nights for the weekend were over 800.
June 11-15
USA Wrestling 14U Duals returned to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, generating over 2,000 room nights. Valley Forge Sports is no stranger to USA Wrestling events, having hosted the 2022 Junior Duals and the 2023 14U Duals.
June 15-16
NXT Sports the Trident and Premier Lacrosse League Philly Waterdogs Home Games were held at the Proving Grounds and Villanova generating 1,000+ room nights, combined. ESPN+ streamed the PLL games live.
June 20-24
Previously mentioned, YMCA Nat’l Gymnastics hosted their Championship & Invitational in Oaks, PA generating an estimated 8,000 room nights and record-breaking 10,000 spectators. Pottstown Rumble and NXT Boys Game Day Invitational were also in town that weekend, with a further 3,300 room nights combined. This brings the total room nights to over 11,000 all in one weekend. Pottstown Rumble is in its 33rd year and is the largest grass doubles volleyball tournament in the world.
June 24-28
At the end of June, three events happened simultaneously in Montgomery County from June 24th-28th: Real Madrid Foundation Soccer Clinic, NXT Lax Mid-Summer Championships, and TooManyGames, for an estimated 3,000+ room nights. TooManyGames has been held in Montgomery County since 1994, making this their 20th anniversary in the area.
JULY
In July, Valley Forge and Montgomery County hosted 9 different sports, with 4 of them being new to the area. Overall, 16,000 room nights were sold, with an estimated $19 million in economic impact.
July 4-7
UMOJA Games contributed 700+ room nights during their event at the Proving Grounds.
The 2024 TNT Summer Showcase Classic, which took place at various locations across the county, contributed an estimated 4,000 room nights.
The 2024 American Cornhole League Championships contributed an estimated 300 room nights. Held at the casino, this new-to-Montco event was streamed on ESPN+!
The Tyrant Wrestling Bison Duels, also new to Montco, were held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center and contributed an estimated 3,500 room nights sold.
The NXT Cup had a successful event at The Proving Grounds with an estimated 2,000 room nights sold.
LineUp had a successful event at The Proving Grounds with an estimated 300 room nights generated.
Trilogy Lacrosse held two successful events at The Proving Grounds; their Midweek Confidential contributed 880 room nights, and their ’24 Tournament contributed a further 926 room nights towards the weekend’s total.
July 12-14
New to Montgomery County, the MaccabiUSA 2025 Maccabiah U16/U18 Soccer Tryouts were held at The Proving Grounds with 84 contributed room nights.
2024 Liberty Bell Hurling & Camogie Championships occurred at Abington High School, generating an estimated 500 room nights.
AUGUST
In August, Valley Forge and Montgomery County hosted 4 different events, one new to the area. Overall, 5,000+ room nights were sold, with an estimated $4 million in economic impact.
July 31 – August 4 Weekday Event
The American Darters’ Association National Championship 2024, brand-new to Montco, had a successful event at Valley Forge Casino Resort, bringing in over 600 room nights. Workhorse Brewing partnered with the event as a presenting sponsor and hosted an offsite event for vendors and sponsors.
S3 Spirit Kick Off Classic Boys had a successful weekend at various locations in Downingtown and Conshohocken generating an estimated 1,000 room nights.
August 23-25

Spartan DEKA, a hybrid “fitness-racing” event, returned to Montgomery County, expanding to a two-day event this year. Their event at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center brought in an estimated 300 room nights.
