Washington State Scholastic Esports Association 2025 Spring State Championships Coming to Lynnwood, Washington

Snohomish County, Wash. – Washington State Scholastic Esports Association (WSSEA) announces that the WSSEA 2025 Spring State Championships will be Sunday, May 18th at the Lynnwood Event Center in Lynnwood, Wash. Thirty-two high school teams with over 160 students will be competing in the finals for Rocket League, Smash Bros. Ultimate and Valorant. This is the first time the WSSEAS State Spring Championships have been held in Snohomish County.

High school teams from across Washington will compete in the spring season for the chance to make it to the finals for each game title. In addition to live gaming action, students can talk with industry experts at the Career Fair Expo and connect with college esports coaches to learn about their programs.

“This will be our fourth live state championships event, and it promises to be our biggest event so far. There will be more teams and players than ever before competing in our most popular games,” states Jake Voss, WSSEA Executive Director. “Thanks to our partners Snohomish County Sports Commission and Lanfest, the Lynnwood Event Center will be the epicenter of Washington state esports on May 18th!”

“Life is not a single player game,” states Katie Briggs, President of LANFEST.

“We are excited to welcome high school esports teams, coaches and family members to the city of Lynnwood and Snohomish County,” states Tammy Dunn, Executive Director of Snohomish County Sports Commission. “Hosting a high school esports state championship is a first for our organization to host and we look forward to hosting more state championships.”

Tourism/Project Manager for the City of Lynnwood. “This event highlights the growing impact of esports, and we are proud to partner with Snohomish County Sports Commission to bring these events to Lynnwood.”
