An Olympic-level, eight-lane rowing course recently opened on Ford Lake in Ypsilanti, just a short drive from Ann Arbor. This premier facility, built with the support of Eastern Michigan University and local partners, now serves as the home course for EMU’s rowing team. Positioned as a top host for rowing events, the course will also host USRowing competitions, further establishing the Ann Arbor area as a hub for elite sports and events of all sizes.

Eastern Michigan University’s state-of-the-art Ford Lake course has been selected to host the 2025 USRowing RowFest National Championships from July 12-20, 2025. In collaboration with Destination Ann Arbor, Eastern Michigan University, and Ypsilanti Township, this prestigious event will take place at Ford Lake, featuring competitive racing as well as community, educational, and social activities.
RowFest 2025 will unite the U.S. rowing community for an exciting week of flatwater racing and celebration. The regatta will showcase national championship events across various age groups – youth, under 17, under 23, open, and masters – as well as sprints, relay races, and cash prizes, offering unique experiences that set it apart from other regattas.
