About Visit Enid

Enid is a city of 52,000 people in north central Oklahoma, 90 minutes from Oklahoma City and two hours from Tulsa and Wichita, Kansas.

Visit Enid is the official Sports Commission for the City of Enid and is a member of Sports ETA (Sports Events & Tourism Association). Its sports facilities are among the best in the state.

David Allen Memorial Ballpark is one of the finest small community ballparks in the nation. Home to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II World Series each May since 2009, David Allen plays host to around 400 baseball games per season. It is also home to NOC-Enid and Enid High baseball, the NCAA Div. II Great American Conference postseason tournament, NJCAA Region II postseason tournament, and numerous AABC Connie Mack (18u) state and regional tournaments each summer. It's a great day when you drive down Grand Ave. in downtown Enid and see the sandwich board sign announcing, "Game Today" outside the entrance to the ballpark.

Stride Bank Center across the street from David Allen Memorial Ballpark, is the home arena for Enid High basketball and volleyball. It serves as a host for OSSAA postseason tournaments and events as well as the Mid America Nationals Wrestling Championship each December. The Enid Outlaws of The Basketball League (TBL) plays here. The TBL hosted its championship series at Stride in 2021.

Coming online in early 2023 is the Advance Soccer Complex. This state-of-the-art complex will have seven full size, fully-lighted fields, six natural grass and one turf. This includes the championship turf field complete with press box and electronic scoreboard. These fields can be reconfigured to allow all age group's proper-size fields from peewee to adult. Planned fields may also be reconfigured for flag football and possibly lacrosse. The custom-designed clubhouse includes four locker rooms, a referee locker room, public bathrooms, concession stand and a futsal field. The NJCAA Region II postseason soccer tournament will be held here.

D. Bruce Selby Stadium is home to Enid Plainsmen football and soccer. The turf field is also the venue for several OSSAA state championship events.

Thanks to its 21 public courts, Enid played host to the 2018 and 2019 State Games of Oklahoma Tennis Tournament. Enid also has two PDGA-certified disc golf courses and Meadowlake Park has 16 ADA-accessible horseshoe courts, the most of any facility in Oklahoma.

Things to do in the area

The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center tells the story of the Cherokee Strip Land Run and the pioneering spirit that built Enid. Outside the Heritage Center, Humphrey Heritage Village features four Victorian-era buildings, including the only remaining U.S. Land Office.

Leonardo's Children's Museum and Adventure Quest is a hands-on arts and science museum with plenty of things for the children to do. Inside Leonardo's, kids can build in the carpentry shop, pet a snake or chinchilla or other live animals, or make pottery. Outside, Adventure Quest is a 3-story science playground featuring mazes, slides, bridges and a water table.

Enid was a popular watering hole on the historic Chisholm Trail. Cowboys driving cattle up the trail knew of the natural spring at what is known today as Government Springs Park. Markers placed along the trail can be seen throughout Enid.

Tourists and locals both enjoy the Arts and Entertainment District in downtown Enid, home to boutique shopping, unique restaurants with many choices of cuisine, the Enid Symphony Center featuring Oklahoma's longest-running symphony since 1905, and the Gaslight Theatre, where high-caliber comedies, dramas and musicals are presented nine times each year.

After the game stop in for fun at Enid Axe, where it's so much more than just axe throwing. You can also play pool, darts, air hockey and cornhole, or play any golf course you'd like on their golf simulator. Sugar Lips Ice Cream & Shaved Ice, along with Sombria Chocolate Co., are housed inside Enid Axe, giving you the chance to indulge your sweet tooth.
