Unspoiled beauty. Rich history. The easy pace of island life. And a downtown energized with arts, culture, discoveries and more. Get ready to immerse yourself into all the sights, smells, flavors, and surprises that make the Bradenton Area a one-of-a-kind destination.
Usually, the first thing people notice about the Bradenton Area is the breath-taking beauty of our natural surroundings. But that's only a small part of our story. This paradise is also a playground. From island to mainland, there's always something new and exciting to discover: artistic communities and cultural events, family fun, adrenaline-packed adventure, historic outposts, or simply another beautiful sugar-white sand beach to sink your toes into.
Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ)
SRQ ensures visitors spend more time at the beach and less time in line. Designed to make it easier to get in and out of, SRQ is the local airport of the Bradenton Area and offers convenient, onsite access to rental cars, cafés and eateries.
By car
The best way to get around town is with your car or a rental. It gives you the freedom to set your own schedule, go with the flow, and even carpool with friends or other members of your group.
Public Transportation
Public transportation networks are established, but they are limited by route and frequency. Anna Maria Island has its own free public trolley transport system, aside from the MCAT, providing transportation from the north to the south end of the island every 20-30 minutes. The MCAT provides transportation throughout the larger Bradenton Area including Longboat Key.
