The Top Gun Invitational was created by Robb Behymer in 2013 to honor the legacy of his father Bill Behymer, a youth softball coach for over 40 years. The inaugural event featured 75 teams from 14 states across 4 age divisions. In 2024, the four-day event will unite 4,000 of the most competitive student-athletes from over 30 different states who are ready to showcase their talents on the field. The day prior to the start of the Top Gun Invitational features the Elite National Showcase, a prospect camp. This camp offers athletes the chance to play in front of coaches from Division I, Division II, NAIA, and JUCO.
The 2023 Top Gun Invitational saw 170+ colleges represented and 280+ college coaches in attendance. The event has been voted one of the top three Division I recruiting tournaments in the country. This year, the Top Gun Invitational will feature 320 teams from 32 states. Over 100 of these teams will fly in for the tournament, and 280 teams will stay in hotels.
