The event features four games during the day beginning with women's and men’s development matches. The women’s national representative teams, the USA Freedom and the Canadian Northern Lights, will then square off followed by the men’s national teams the USA Revolution taking on the Canadian Northwind.
The event draws over 250 players, coaches, support staff and referees. The event is over a 2-day period (Friday set up, teams arrive, clinics and media sessions, with games played all day Saturday, teams return home on Sunday).
Approximately 200 - 250 total room nights.
Site Requirements
Facility needs - Electricity at event site, ability to utilize wireless internet connection (or preferably hard wire connection), water, men’s and women’s bathrooms, ability to add portable restrooms as needed and support with provision of ambulance/EMS services on site. In addition, there must be parking for at least 100 vehicles at site, or provision for nearby parking with shuttles.
The USAFL and AFL Canada will provide all tournament personnel to run the competition and will be responsible for field layout, marking and set up and tear down.
Additional facility management will be requested for site set up/electricity, trash removal/recycling & support.
The 49th Parallel Cup is a one day event with a series of men's and women's games played between the USA vs Canada on a Saturday. Field setup takes place on the Friday. August 5 is first choice followed by August 12 then 19 and 26.
