1. Event Overview:
• AJGA plans to host a golf event in your area for at least three years (January–December).
• June - August: Sunday–Thursday, starting with a 78-player qualifier on Sunday.
All other months: Wednesday - Sunday, starting with qualifier on Wednesday.
• About 10% of qualifier players advance to the main event (Monday–Thursday in summer months).
2. Player & Community Participation:
• 156 junior golfers (ages 12-19) from around the world will compete.
• Monday includes a practice round and a Junior-Am fundraiser benefiting a local charity.
• Majority of players travel from out of the area to participate. Typical event has players from 15 states and
3 countries.
3. Economic & Tourism Impact:
• Up to 156 families expected, with 80% staying in local hotels for at least five days. Roughly 300 room
nights picked up during the week of the event.
• Families often arrive early or stay longer, boosting local business revenue.
• Expected economic impact: $250,000+ initially, over $1 million long-term.
