The ISF School Summer Games - Gymnasiade U18 is an elite international multi-sport event organized by the International School Sport Federation (ISF). It is dedicated to school students aged 16 to 18 and gathers approximately 6,000 athletes from over 100 countries, making it the largest event of its kind.
The event has a rich history, with its inaugural edition held in 1974, and it has since become a cornerstone for promoting sports, education, and cultural exchange among youth globally. Held every two years, the Gymnasiade U18 features competitions in around 25 sports, including three para-sports, and offers a comprehensive program that includes educational workshops, cultural activities, and ceremonial events.
Hosting this event provides a unique opportunity for cities to showcase their commitment to youth development, enhance their international reputation, and experience significant economic benefits from the influx of participants and visitors.
As this is a summer event, the competition will need to be held during summer/fall months during non term-time. Previous events have occurred in August/September.
