OUR LEAD INSTRUCTOR Michael “THE FORT” McKenry

Nicknamed “The Fort”- I am a proud alumni of Farragut High School in Knoxville, TN and played 3 seasons of baseball at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. While at MTSU I studied Exercise Science.

The next twelve seasons between 2006-2017 were spent following my dream of playing professional baseball.

My Major League Baseball debut was in 2010 with the Colorado Rockies. I played thereafter at the MLB level with the Pittsburgh Pirates (2011-2013), Colorado Rockies (2014-2015), and St. Louis Cardinals (2016) along with several Minor League teams. It was an honor to play the game of baseball for a living!

In early 2018, I chose to switch gears and retire from the athlete’s side of baseball. Since then, I have been the Pre/Postgame analyst on AT&T Sportsnet for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In addition, I am helping develop an app called TailTrax with a team of pet lovers and entrepreneurs.

My passion for life is rooted in my deep faith in Christ, my wife Jaclyn, and our dog Griffin.
