One of the finest horse racing facilities in the world is Lone Star Park located in Grand Prairie. Since 1997, this facility has hosted thoroughbred and quarter horse racing in the spring and fall seasons. In 2004, the site was selected to host The Breeders' Cup, one of only 10 tracks to ever host this world-class horse racing event.
Bringing in more than 50,000 people, it was an overwhelming success. The track's largest annual race is the Lone Star Million Dollar Day which features multiple races with a combined purse of $1 million. In addition to their own races, Lone Star Park has a 36,000 square-foot pavilion to watch and wager on simulcast races throughout the country.
This facility has also been the site of numerous other sporting events including rodeo and extreme sports as well as multiple concerts.
