The Arne Hanna Aquatic Center consists of an eight-lane, 25-yard competitive pool, a 1-meter diving pool, an instructional pool with the state’s first indoor waterslide, and a hydrotherapy pool. The hydrotherapy pool is designed for full immersion of gurney-bound hospital patients, as requested by one of the facility’s main donors, St. Joseph Medical Center. The instructional pool features a zero-depth shallow end. In an effort to save space, the waterslide exits the building for one 360 degrees turn and a second 180-degree turn before re-entering the building. Two family change rooms are provided, with separate toilets and showers.
