About Carthage College

The campus is located on the beautiful Lake Michigan shore with educational, artistic and athletic events open to the public. Host of the Carthage Chamber Music Series, bringing world-class entertainment to Kenosha, along with drama productions, music performances, and free exhibitions in the H.F. Johnson Gallery of Art. Carthage was established in 1847 as a liberal arts educational institute, and has expanded its offerings to include evening adult classes and Master's programs.

Meeting & Special Event Facilities
Nestled within an 83-acre park along the Lake Michigan shore, Carthage College offers the ideal setting for your gathering. From a business meeting for 10, to a presentation of 3,500, Carthage has space to accommodate you and experienced people that will make you feel at home. Event spaces offer breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and state of the art audio visual and multimedia equipment, including video-conferencing rooms with satellite downlink. In fact, Carthage College recently added two new multi-million dollar facilities to its beautiful campus; the Hedberg Library and Tarble Athletic & Recreation Center which offer outstanding accommodations for meeting space and presentations. Carthage also has a beautiful Chapel that can host up to 1,300 people. Elegantly landscaped areas accommodate picnics up to 2,000, and Carthage has more than 500 sleeping rooms which allow you to stay where you meet. Sports Facilities:

Located on the picturesque shore of Lake Michigan, Carthage College features a multitude of athletic facilities to host most sporting events. About 40 percent of Carthage students compete in 28 different sports: 14 for women, 13 for men, and coed esports.

Major events the campus has hosted include:
* 2022 NCAA Men’s volleyball regionals and Final Four National Championship matches,
* 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Championship,

Sport Facilities:
N.E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center: 156,000-square-foot facility. 200-meter, 6-lane track includes pole vault, long jump, and high jump pits in center area. 4 multipurpose courts for basketball, volleyball and tennis. 25-yard by 40-meter 16-lane competition swimming pool with timing system and seating for 250. 25-foot climbing wall. 5,000-square-foot health and fitness center. 2 racquetball courts. Aerobics room. Locker rooms. Concessions area.
Tarble Arena: NCAA Regulation Basketball and Volleyball. 4 classrooms, 2 weight rooms.
Art Keller Field: Lighted facility ideal for football, soccer and lacrosse. 400-meter track. State-of-the-art FieldTurf® surface. Stadium seating for 2,448. Connected to the Campbell Student Center (restaurants and restrooms).
Smeds Tennis Center: 10 hard surface outdoor courts. 6 courts equipped with lighting for night play. 2 Stadium courts. Observation deck. Clubhouse and social center for spectators. Seating for 500.
