Cricket fields are generally hard to come by in this part of the world, but Russell Creek Park has seven cricket pitches, more than any one park in North America. The annual Southwest Cricket Championships draws a colorful international crowd and teams come from all over the world to compete. Russell Creek’s 22 natural grass fields, many lighted, are heavily used by youth and adult soccer and lacrosse and a shaded-pod of four baseball fields has a pavilion, nearby playground and for youth and corporate events. A nearby lake and lots of mature trees add some cool to the Texas heat.
