About Famu Lawson Center

The Lawson Center hosts FAMU Convocations and Commencement Exercises. It is also the home of the Rattler Men’s and Women’s basketball teams and volleyball home games. The main arena features bleacher seating for 8,470 people, a video scoreboard, and a first-class arena sound system. Other facility features include an 80-person banquet room overlooking the arena, a dance studio with a sprung floor, meeting rooms, interview rooms, and classrooms that may be converted into skyboxes.

When not in use for instructional or athletic purposes, the Lawson Center is made available for other events. These events include concerts, various entertainment, and athletic tournaments.
