James W. Cownie Soccer Park is the home field for local colleges and high schools including: Grand View University, Drake University, Lincoln High School, East High School, Carlisle High School, and Des Moines Christian High School.

This facility hosts:
- Iowa boys and girls high school state soccer tournaments
- Menace Midwest Invitational
- “Just for Girls” Spring Tournament
- This facility has also hosted the US Youth Soccer national tournament including Region II Championships, and The Presidents Cup Tournament.

The features of this park include:
- 12 irrigated turf fields
- 4 of the 12 fields have lights and scoreboards
- Field 9 is considered championship level with seating for 2,000 fans, a press box and video platform
