About McKibben Park

McKibben Park, located at 5500 Trekell Street, is a 4-acre neighborhood park that is also one of five parks providing water-based recreation in the City of North Port. General Development Corporation donated the land to the City of North Port with the deed executed in July of 1980.

Previously known as Country Club Ridge Park, McKibben Park is located on the Blue Ridge Waterway and is the site of the Kids Fishing Tournament and Fishing Clinic held annually in June. There is a nice shaded green space at the park with Live Oak, Sabal Palm, Slash Pine and Drake Elm in the landscape. In July of 2012, a canoe/kayak launch was added to the park which also boasts basketball, tennis, racquetball and shuffleboard courts, a playground, pavilion, grill and restroom facility. The pavilion at this park can accommodate up to 25 people and is available for rental through the Parks and Recreation Division.
