Colorado State University Pueblo hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony March 18, 2016 to celebrate the completion of the newly renovated Art & Lorraine Gonzales Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium and honor all those who had contributed to the project.
Then-CSU Pueblo President Dr. Lesley Di Mare, Director of Athletics Joe Folda, and Foundation President Todd Kelly spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony along with Art Gonzales, whose generous donations made the facility possible.
Following the short program, Art & Lorraine, President Di Mare, Folda and student-athletes from men's and women's soccer, along with athletes from men's lacrosse, cut the ribbon to signify the official opening of the new facility.
The $3 million renovation features five locker rooms (men's and women's soccer, men's and women's lacrosse, men's track and field), each with 44 lockers, offices, an athletic training room, public restrooms, a concession area, a ticket booth, a press box, and a lobby area. A new synthetic turf field was put in along with 550-seat grandstands.
