About Homestead Golf Course

Located in southern Miami County, Homestead Golf Course gets its name from land it was built on. The land was homesteaded in 1814 by the Knife Family. It was used for agricultural purposes until it was converted into a nine-hole public golf course on June 1, 1965. The course was designed by architect William W. Amick and built by Van V. Knife with help from his wife Esther and sons Jim and David.
