The 3,558-acre Ned Brown Preserve—popularly known as Busse Woods—is one of the largest and most diverse locations in the Forest Preserves of Cook County and is listed as a National Natural Landmark. The site features a flat eight mile circle paved walking, cycling and jogging path surrounded by hardwood forest. Several small lakes make it one of the largest fishing and boating waters in Cook County. One of the lakes plays host to the Chicago International Dragon Boat Festival every July. And check out the elk pasture too. All of this an more make it one of the best natural areas in Northeastern Illinois. Pavilions are available for rent.
