About Brian Piccolo Park & Velodrome

Opened in 1989, this multi-use park is named in honor of Brian Piccolo, who developed his athletic skills at an early age in the parks and playgrounds of Broward County. He went on to become an outstanding all-round 1957-61 high school athlete at Central Catholic High School (now St. Thomas Aquinas), achieved football stardom at Wake Forest, and played five seasons with the Chicago Bears prior to his untimely death at age 26. Athletes of all ages, sports fans, and other park patrons will enjoy the variety of athletic and other recreational amenities available at this major public regional park and field sports complex.
