Earlier this month, we had the honor of hosting a groundbreaking event at Wintrust Sports Complex—Chicago Public Schools’ Reimagining STEM. This innovative experience brought together students, families, educators, and community partners for an intergenerational, interactive day centered around the powerful intersection of sports, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), and community.

Olympia Fields, Ill. – (February 19, 2025) Wintrust Sports Complex at Bedford Park and Visit Chicago Southland won 2025 SportsEvents Readers’ Choice Awards for All-Star Indoor Sports Events Venue and All-Star Destination Partner respectively. 

On November 4th, Wintrust Sports Complex proudly welcomed back the DeafNation Expo for its second consecutive year at our Bedford Park facility.

[Bedford Park, IL] Oct. 10, 2024– Wintrust Sports Complex is proud to announce that it has been selected to host the 2025 USA Judo Junior Olympic National and International Championships, set to take place from June 20-22, 2025. This premier event will bring together the nation’s top young judo athletes, ages 5 to 20, to compete in a series of intense matches as they strive for national titles and showcase their skills on the path to future Olympic competitions.

The Chicago Sky, in partnership with the Village of Bedford Park, celebrated the groundbreaking of their new $38 million state-of-the-art practice facility yesterday. Set to open before the 2026 WNBA season, this new development marks a significant step forward for both the Sky and the community of Bedford Park. The practice facility will be a key part of the Phase 2 expansion of the Wintrust Sports Complex, a 116,000 sq. ft. sports and event venue that will serve as the Sky’s new neighbor.

In the span of just two months, Wintrust Sports Complex in Bedford Park, IL, has hosted two premier jiu-jitsu tournaments, marking a major milestone in our facility’s growing reputation as a hub for combat and mat sports. This summer, we proudly welcomed the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) in August, followed by the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) Chicago Open in September. Both events attracted a broad range of athletes, bringing an unparalleled level of excitement and showcasing some of the top jiu-jitsu talent in the country.

On August 6th, Chicago Bulls guard Coby White brought his passion for basketball to the youth in Bedford Park by hosting a memorable youth basketball camp at Wintrust Sports Complex. In partnership with ProCamps, White provided an unforgettable experience for the participants, making it a day to remember.

The Chicago Sky has officially announced plans to construct a brand-new, state-of-the-art practice facility right next door to Wintrust Sports Complex, further strengthening our growing sports hub in Bedford Park. In partnership with the Village of Bedford Park, the groundbreaking for this exciting project will take place this fall, with the facility slated for completion by December 2025. This cutting-edge complex will be located just 11 miles from the Sky’s home court at Wintrust Arena, a significant improvement from their current facility, which is nearly 30 miles away and shared with local residents, students, and various organizations.

Earlier this summer, the Wintrust Sports Complex was proud to host the prestigious Under Armour Association (UAA) Finals. This massive, championship event served as the pinnacle of a yearlong league-style circuit, bringing together the nation’s top high school boys’ basketball teams at the 17U and 16U levels. Two teams were ultimately crowned UAA Champions: Team Thrill (17U) and KC Run GMC (16U).

We are thrilled to announce that Wintrust Sports Complex in Bedford Park, IL, has once again been chosen to host the prestigious Under Armour Association (UAA) Basketball Finals! Following the success of the 2022 tournament, we’re ecstatic to welcome back this elite event.

Last week, the 26th Annual Tohkon Dojo Judo Classic made its debut at The Wintrust Sports Complex! Athletes of all ages, from 5 to adult, showcased their skills in a day of intense competition. We were honored to host their clinic led by champions Judo Megumi Ishikawa and Ryunoske Haga, followed by an exciting team tournament for youth judoka. A fantastic experience for all!

Wintrust Sports Complex has the honor of hosting 26 Division 1 volleyball programs including Nebraska, Clemson, Marquette, Louisville, Depaul, and Northwestern. As well as over 150 female high school athletes in classes 2025-27 that are participating in this two-day event (June 3-4, 6:00pm – 9:00pm).

The basketball community erupted with anticipation and energy as the Nike Jr Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) unveiled its groundbreaking “Super Regional” event, igniting enthusiasm across the grassroots basketball scene.

Get ready, Bedford Park! The excitement is sky-high as the city’s esteemed WNBA franchise, The Chicago Sky, is collaborating with Nike Sports Camps to bring 2 top-notch Youth Basketball Camps to the Wintrust Sports Complex this summer.

Get ready to witness the best table tennis players in action over three thrilling days. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just looking for some fun, this event is not to be missed.

Development in Bedford Park is in high gear and a new hotel broke ground earlier this month adjacent to the Wintrust Sports Complex on 65th Street, which opened in 2021.

Evan Turner, a retired NBA star and current assistant coach for the Boston Celtics brought his Annual Evan Turner Prospect Basketball Showcase to Wintrust Sports Complex. This annual event allowed high school seniors to showcase their basketball talent.

On July 7th, Wintrust Sports Complex was a host site for the Under Armour NEXT Volleyball Camp Series. This camp brought hundreds of the best volleyball players in the Midwest together.
